Nursing home administrators are responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the operation of a nursing home. They must meet the qualifying and practice standards established by the Nursing Home Administrators Board.

The Oregon Health Licensing Agency (OHLA) oversees regulation of nursing home administrators and other health and related professions in collaboration with profession-specific volunteer citizen boards and councils. OHLA to Close on Scheduled Furlough Days

Starting Friday, October 16, 2009, OHLA will be closed on 10 "furlough" days through May 2011 as part of state government efforts to reduce costs. State employees will take unpaid days off on these scheduled days. Please plan any business with OHLA accordingly. We apologize for any inconvenience.
New Identification Requirements Revised

OHLA has revised new identification requirements in response to stakeholder feedback and upon further review by agency staff. Applicants for authorizations to practice should review the new requirements prior to sitting for an examination or applying.
