About the LSTA Council |
|
The Library Services and Technology Act Advisory Council is appointed by the State Library Board of Trustees to advise them on matters concerning the administration of this federal grant program for libraries from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The specific charges of the Council are included in the Oregon Library Services and Technology Act Five-Year State Plan, 2008-2012.
The Council's thirteen members are elected by the Board to represent public, academic, special, and school libraries, as well as library users, and disadvantaged persons. Terms are for three years. Normally, the Council will meet twice a year, in May and September. Nominations are solicited in the fall via the libs-or mailing list for the year's vacancies. Nominations may be made to Library Development staff or directly to the Chair of the Oregon State Library Board.
